Transforming Organics into Renewable Natural Gas with Top Speed Energy

Pioneering sustainable energy solutions on First Nations Land

What We Do

At Top Speed Energy, we are at the forefront of the transition towards clean, renewable energy solutions.

We transform organic waste into renewable natural gas (RNG), creating a sustainable energy source that helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Our Technology

The process of converting organics into RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) involves collecting organic waste and transporting it to an anaerobic digestion facility. There, microorganisms break down the organic matter, producing biogas rich in methane. The biogas is purified and upgraded to remove impurities, resulting in RNG with a composition similar to natural gas. The purified RNG is then injected into the natural gas pipeline system or compressed for use as a transportation fuel.

Sustainability

Renewable Natural Gas offers significant sustainability advantages.

  • RNG is produced from organic waste materials like food scraps, agricultural residues, and municipal solid waste. By converting these wastes into energy, RNG helps divert them from landfills, reducing methane emissions and mitigating environmental pollution.

  • RNG is a renewable energy source. The process of producing RNG is cyclical, as new organic waste is continuously generated, allowing for a consistent and sustainable supply of energy.

  • RNG has a lower carbon footprint compared to conventional natural gas and fossil fuels. The production of RNG captures methane, a potent greenhouse gas, from organic waste streams, which helps to mitigate climate change and lower overall greenhouse gas emissions.

  • RNG can be seamlessly integrated into existing natural gas infrastructure, enabling a smooth transition to a more sustainable energy future without the need for extensive infrastructure changes.

Overall, RNG's sustainability advantages lie in its ability to reduce waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and provide a renewable and environmentally friendly energy alternative.

What People Are Saying

“When coal came into the picture, it took about 50 or 60 years to displace timber. Then, crude oil was found, and it took 60, 70 years, and then natural gas. So it takes 100 years or more for some new breakthrough in energy to become the dominant source. Most people have difficulty coming to grips with the sheer enormity of energy consumption.”

— Rex Tillerson

“....Secondly, science dictates the policy rather than politics. Third, there's collaboration between environmental groups and the natural gas industry.”

— Bill Richardson

“We do have serious energy needs for the country, we are aware that natural gas is especially in demand because of its air quality benefits: 90 percent of new power plants have been natural gas-powered.”

— Gale Norton

FAQs

  • With the global population expected to grow, solid waste is projected to increase significantly by 2050. Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) offers an immediate and impactful solution to address waste and its associated emissions. While reducing, reusing, and recycling are crucial, RNG plays a vital role in dealing with inedible food waste, manure, municipal solid waste, and wastewater by capturing emissions and converting waste into low-lifecycle carbon intensity (CI) energy, making it the most effective clean energy source for decarbonization and combatting climate change.

  • Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) stands apart from other clean energy sources as it transforms waste, which emits methane, into a reliable and environmentally friendly energy resource, playing a vital role in the clean energy transition. By capturing methane from waste streams, RNG prevents its release into the atmosphere, addressing climate change concerns. As an essential part of a diverse energy portfolio, RNG complements other renewable sources by offering storability, dispatchability, and the ability to combine with other fuel and power generation resources, contributing to a sustainable and circular economy.
